I felt compelled to comment, briefly, on the outstanding experience my guests and I had over Valentine’s Day, 2010.
From the start, my experience with A Gift Of Thyme was delightful. Your ability to
fearlessly work with my broad menu instructions was outstanding. You took the latitude we gave you, and presented us with a menu that delighted my wife and me, as well as the many people we shared it with. Universally, the response was “Oh, wow, that sounds good….”
When the 5 course meal arrived, it lived up to the lofty expectations the menu had set. The care provided to the ingredients, and the complexity of the dishes, added immensely to our experience – for instance, the salad, down to the finely chopped nuts. The multiple hand-made sauces on the steak (which complimented each other in ways we didn’t expect). The edible garnish on the butternut squash soup. Each complex detail created an experience one cannot expect in a restaurant requiring the creation of 600 meals per night.
As for table service, the professionalism you and your support team showed during dinner was “Five Star”. It is my opinion that professional wait staff in many of the finer restaurants don’t understand how to properly handle fine dining. We never felt rushed. We never felt intruded on. Drinks were full. Food was hot and timely and perfect.
And… in meal prep, you tolerated my 5 Year Old’s questions and intrusions, and in cleanup, left the kitchen cleaner than you found it. In all, the experience we received was well beyond what we expected. The value we received can only be measured in the memories we created. And, we got to bring our own wine, to boot!
As an amateur chef myself, I can only applaud.

On the occasion of my brother’s 44th birthday...I wanted a simple menu of hors d’eouvres to go along with cocktails for 12. What Barb provided was perfect! She arrived exactly when she said she would… (and) she was out of our hair before the second round of drinks. Clean up was a breeze and I got credit for making it a relaxing, enjoyable evening for everyone, including myself!

She shows up on time and fixes wonderful meals and then leaves the kitchen in good shape when she finishes.
